steering box

I just replaced my steering box with one from shucks. They asked if I had the performance suspension option. The GM dealer said the IROCs had the performance suspension so I got that one. It was the lower effort, lower ratio box, not the one I had? Does any one know why this is? How do I get the right one? Shucks swears they gave me the right box.

There should be a casting number on the side of the box- what is it?

By the way I've heard of people bringing their old performance-steering boxes into auto stores as a core and getting the "normal" box back... so your case wouldn't be unusual.
