get a posi rear and steve spohn lca's. My RS hooks smooth with these parts, and the posi rear I got is only a 2.73. That single wheel spin is crazy for sports car, whoever decided to make rears like that were insane.

what condition are your springs and shocks in? Put the car on a hoist or jack it up with the rear hanging and inspect the rear control arms and bushings.

Would bad shocks and springs cause wheel hop.

Bad shocks will with out a doubt, make the rear hop. Shocks add dampening. If you didn't have them, the car would never stop bouncing.

Also, if the shocks are too stiff, you won't be able to keep the tires on the ground. There won't be any cushioning.

You dont' want to get rear shocks from a junkyard, do you? They'd be junk... and for the same price (including time & effort to remove them from the junked car), you can get new ones.

When I did my friend's 1991 Formula's exhaust in 1995, his shocks were so shot that I could compress them without any effort. I'm sure if you have the original shocks on the car, yours are shot by now.

Really the best way to deal with the wheelhop would be to just get some good new shocks and aftermarket control arms. Swapping in the suspension from a IROC or Z28 would just give you stiffer springs (which can help wheelhop) and a bigger sway bar. The springs are a really easy swap, so try that and some new shocks and see if it helps. Then try some new control arms if it doesn't. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, aren't those Lakewood control arms only $60 or so for a set? That's as budget as you can get
