4th gen rims on 3rd gen car??
I am looking at a set of 16 X 8 4th gen firehawk rims that are for sale. I was wondering how well they will fit on a 3rd gen firebird. I have the normal disc brake front and mod'd the back with a 9 bolt rear 1LE 12 inch aussie disc's. I think they are supposed to fit but need a spacer. Can anyone conferm this? Also what size and where can I get this spacer? And last with the spacer will the rims look right... I mean positioned where they are supposed to be? Thanks ... Erik

327 firebird,
Slip on spacers are fine if you just need 1/4" thickness or so, but the problem is that anything greater really stresses the studs, to the point of catastrophically snapping. With the billet adapters, I drag an road race without any problems on some decently sized meats (315's rear and 275's in the front). I wrote a tech article at http://www.skulte.com/adapterfaq.html explaining exactly what goes on. I hope this clarifies things a bit.
