wheel balancing

I had all 4 wheels balanced on my camaro which are Z28 aluminum wheels. One is bent and the guy at the tire shop had to put 5 ounces on one side and 1 ounce on the other. If I put this one in the rear will I have any problem.

More than likely, yes, depending on how bent it is. Five ounces on one side? That certainly isn't good, and shame on him for even bothering w/ a bent rim.

He should have at least tried to dismount the tire and move it around to acheive the best balance. 5 ounces on one side is alot, thats more than I like to do on the whole wheel.

which year Z28 rims? if you have 91 92 rims then you cant move them back to front without dismounting the tires from the rims.

The wheels are off a 84 Z28. I called the shop that balanced the wheels and they said if I get another wheel they will mount and balance the tire no charge. I located a wheel at a salvage yard for $25. I thought the wheel would be expensive thats why I wanted to know if I could use it but now I will get it fixed right. Thanx.
