How to get off "stuck" front wheels?!
How to get off "stuck" front wheels?!
Damn, the front wheels on my car seem to be rusted onto the calipers. I've kicked & banged but they won't seem to budge. I've also doused them with lots of pentrating oil, but to no avail. Anyone have any tips?

Umm...make sure ALL the lugs are off LOL.if that isn't the prob. Go for a ride so the tires and brakes (everything) gets hot...get home and hurry up and jack the car up and pull them off. The heat should let them come loose (expand).

loosen the lugnuts a couple of turns. crank up the car and turn the steering from lock to lock. that should break loose the wheels

Well, if the front of the car's in the air, he won't have to start the engine to turn the steering wheel...

When I got new tires for my old Dodge van, a couple of the rims were rusted on like that. The installer spent a lot of time pounding on the inside of the tires with a sledge hammer while it was up on the hoist. One came loose and they had to straighten the rim. He finally got the other one loose by loosening the lug nuts and doing donuts in the parking lot. Afterwards the guy went home with his arm in a sling from pulling his shoulder weilding the sledge hammer. The free installation was really worth it.
