grease fittings

grease fittings

where are all the grease fittings on my 89rs? i know that there is 3 on each side in the front, but is there any in the back? thanks.

look at the cross on your u joints, some have fittings, others don't

There are 9 in front. 2 ball joints, 2 outer tie rods, 2 inner tie rods, 2 on the center link, and 1 idler arm. None in the rear unless you have aftermarket trailing arms.

Ede, I know my U-joint has the fitting, but I've never heard of them being greased or seen anything in the service manual about that. Is this something that I (all of us?) should've been doing when we grease the rest of the parts? It doesn't look like a regular grease fitting, so I was wondering how you do that... Thanks.

all the fittings i ever saw on a u joint on a third gen were like the ones in front, i have saw the fittings that took a smaller tool to get the greese in, mine just attaches to the coupler on my greese gun and then i press it in to the fitting and apply greese

Hmmmm, sounds like something I need to look at this weekend. I'll be underneath anyways measuring the driveshaft length and such. Thanks for the info!
