Advice for performance suspension rebuild?
This summer I am beginning a year long performance upgrade on my 84 Firebird. I am currently gathering the bits and pieces for the suspesion and would like advice and opinions.
I am using PST polygraphite bushings through the entire car, front to rear. I was going to use Eibach springs and struts, but have recently learned that the rear suspension can be swapped with that of a new 2001. What are your opinions on using 2001 WS6 rear springs with matching shocks, and what would i go with on the front for a balanced ride. A harsh ride is acceptable to a degree. I am replacing everything on the suspension front to rear, including all steering gear that wears. Thanks for your opinions and advice.

84 V6 Firebird in sad, but mechanically sound shape. Currently gathering parts for a performance restoration, i.e. restore the body and interior, then stuff as much HP under the hood as possible.
Any body know of a good resto shop??

well the ride will be about the same if the car is lowered no matter what rear end you use. But remember that you will need to get wheel spacers for the front ($150) to use the 93 up wheels all the way around. It depends on what you are willing to spend. I would keep the 82-92 if it is disk rear, but if the newer rear is disk then swap it in and spend the extra money to make it look right.
I may have confused some by my wording. I plan on using the disc rear-end out of an 84 F41 Camaro, I am going to use Formula 16" wheels circa 89-90. The exterior of the car is going to remain stock appearing with the only possible exception being a fiberglass ram-air style hood. I am just looking to upgrade the suspension to be more performance oriented. Right now the car has a sport?? upgrade suspension from the base suspension. I would like to have a car that handles as well as or better than a new WS6.
Thanks for your reply.
