GM WONDERBAR

I recently saw this post

"and ladies...sorry...
OK, heres the deal. I just got off the phone with my local Chevrolet dealer and you can buy one of these new for $33.70 ea. The part number DuTeau Chevrolet gave me was #14079634. I think that is a universal number used by dealers but I'm not for sure. If you want to order one of these and your dealer won't help you then give DuTeau Chevrolet a call at 402/474-2020. Those guys are really nice and will help you out. I was told it'll take about 3-4 days to get it. I hope that helps you guys out"

is the GM wonderbar the same as an aftermarket wonder bar??

For $33.70, what's the point of looking? Nobody could build and market them for that much.

The aftermarket one is supposed to be a bit beefier than the GM one. I bought the GM one through my local chevy dealer and it works just fine.

I bought mine from Global West Suspension for $45.00 shipped to Chicago. It takes a little finesse to install, but it is MUCH beefier and little heavier than the stock GM piece.

You can get the wonderbar for $20.22 at GM parts direct. I think the shipping is about $9

I paid $5.00 for mine.
Got it from a local salvage yard. Just told them it was a radiator brace.
There is actually one more left at the yard I got mine from.
If you go to the salvage yard just remember that the wonderbar only came on the IROC.

Tightens up the front end a little, supposedly helps prevent cracking around the steering box too.

I just installed my wonderbar last night. Peice of cake, I can feel a slight difference. I think it is worth every penny.
