brake problem - please help!

Little less than a month ago I replaced my front brake hoses because the drivers side wheel was locking up instantly whenever I stepped on the brake and found out from here that it was most likely my hoses. After replacing them my brakes were great, stopped smooth and straight.

Just today that same drivers side front tire is locking up. It locks up easier and easier as the brakes get warmed up. I'm at a loss since I had just replaced the hoses and everything has been fine up until today.

PLEASE HELP!

Okay I found out its actually my rear drivers side drum thats locking up. Which seems weird since a month ago I remedied the same symptom with new front hoses. Would I possibly need new rear hoses??

Upon taking off the drum I see no visible problems except that the wheel cylinder is leaking and there is lots of greese and crap on the shoes and drum, which I wiped off with brake cleaner and still the same problem when doing the test drive.

I'm thinking of just replacing my wheel cylinders, springs, and shoes and hopeing that fixes it. Could it be anything else? Thanks anyone who can leave any insight.

I take it from your post that your wheel cylinder is shot to sh*t. I'd go ahead and replace the cylinders. That ought to fix it. I had the same problem with an old pickup of mine... went to stop for a stop light and there's tire smoke everywhere. You could replace the hardware while you're in there, that's easy and cheap too. Oughta do it..

Matlock, if you have rear drums, there's only one rear hose back there. While you have the brake cylinder out, since you need to bleed the back brakes anyway, replacing that 14-year-old brake hose would be a great idea.
