Camber kits

I just installed intrax springs with new struts and shocks on my 91 camaro. Do I need to get a camber kit or will the alignment go completely back to factory setting?

How much of a drop did you do?

Its a 2 inch drop in front and 1.8 inch drop in back.

I would kile to know where I can get a camber kit, as my stock camber plates are already maxed out (1.5" drop) thanx

Shouldn't need them. What camber setting do you want? With a 2 inch drop you won't want the stock setting. I dropped mine 1.5 inch and I have it set at -.75. But, I can adjust it up to +1.25 without any problem. You should have plenty of adjustment.

When I dropped 2" with intrax I had the suspension place put in a camber kit. It cost me $30.. but I don't know where they got it from or how they did it. sorry.

What are they maxed out at? Is the alignment shop trying to get factory specs? If so, that's not what you want.

If they are maxed out, they are maxed out. He is correct in looking for a camber kit. I have never seen one made for our cars. If you dont find one and your negative camber is chewing up tires, you might want to consider drop spindles with stock springs for a 2 inch drop.

All I'm trying to say is that if, for instance, you have -.5 camber and the alignment shop says "that's not within specs and you need a camber kit", they are wrong. That negative camber is a good thing, as long as it isn't past -.75. It will make your car handle better and wear the tires even. Usually the camber kits are installed to make the camber even more negative for road racing.

Well when i went to the alignment shop the guy told me it isnt completely back to factory settings. I forgot what exactly the numbers were but they werent very far off. He told me as long as i rotate my tires i will be fine. Im gonna go thru my tires right now and if they get too bad ill get the intrax camber kit. Ill post my results after i go thru my tires(might be a while got brand new yokohamas).Oh and will the size of the tire make a diffrence to the setting of the camber?
I have 245s up front and 255s in the back.

Usually when you lower a car, you get increased negative camber, which is what you *want* unless you're only interested in straight line driving. If you do any kind of spirited driving at all, the outside edges of your tires wear down pretty quick. With a stock 3rd gen, it's just about all you can do to get zero camber, let alone negative. Camber kits are for getting more negative camber and positive caster for road racing and autox. They are quite expensive, but you can get quite a lot of negative camber for free by modifying the struts. You have to elongate the holes where the strut mounts to the steering knuckle. By filing the upper holes 1/8" to the outside and the lower holes 1/8" to the inside (towards the strut body), you can get up to 2° negative camber.
