I might be mistaken, but shocks don't have anything to do with height. That is where springs come in. Changing your rear shocks is very simple.
1) Support rear with jackstands loosen bolt on shock mount.
2) Lift up carpet behind back seats, remove foam and take off nut.
3) Go back under car,Take out bolt on shock and remove shock.
4) Replace with new shock.
you might have to play with jacking rear up and down a little bit to get things lined up.
5) Repeat for the other side.
If I forgot something let me know everybody.
Later,
Blue

The front struts are pretty straight forward, but the bolts are a bitch to get off. Very tight!! The hood is ASCD's big block.

I'm pretty sure it is the shocks though. When I push down on that corner of the car, I can get the fender to touch the tire fairly easily.. The ride hieght is the same on both sides though.. I just spent almost $2g's on wheels and tires, so I don't want the fender to rub off any more of the tire..

Thanks for the advice on installing the shocks.

"ASCD" stands for American Sports Car Designs. Just put that name in a search site and you will find the site. It would be a good idea to put the bong down no matter if you knew what ASCD was or not. No drugs, more money for mods!

rear shocks are one of the easiest things to do. seriously just 4 bolts, and a lil helper and you are done.

and the front struts? how in the world do you get the bolts off the top? i have been trying and trying but you cant grip onto anything. thanks

I changed the shocks and struts on my car. It was not hard.

As far as getting a grip on the strut tower, I used one of those Clench-Wrench tools from Sears. It worked great. The top should have 2 flat spots that you can put the Clench-Wrench on. Then loosen the nut. Just make sure that you support the lower control arm with a jack so that the spring doesn't push it down. Spray WD-40 or somethinglike that on all the bolts first. Then, after your done, get the front end aligned. The strut tower brackets I think are what sets the caster and the camber. That and you gotta have a torque wrench that will go up to 200 ft.lbs. The bolts that are on the steering knuckle need 195 ft.lbs.

Get a Haynes Repair Manual. It'll tell you all you need to know.

Edit: It did increase the sitting height of my car after I did them all.
