Will this work??????????
Will this work??????????
Buddy of mine got the rear end on his 89 TA cratered last week. We have since found a donor body. It's an 84 TA. Will we be able to swap everything from the engine, interior to the drive train. All opinions would be appreciated!!The donor interior was shot but excellent body with t-tops. Thanks Guys
you should be able to swap everything over with no or very little problems.

Thanks for your reply. I know that there were subtle differences between the 78 and the 79 when it came to the tail light mounting. I was wondering if you knew if there were such differences between the 89 and the 84?
Sorry to hear that you had problems, Did everything bolt up ok. I realize that there were changes in all the years, so I'm afraid that there might be problems mounting the rear end and possibly even so interior pieces. Thanks for replying to my original message.
Well what I meant to say is that I had no problems. I just typed like an idiot. Anyway the problem areas I had were:
1. Mounting holes for ground effects.
2. Alignment of rear glass.
3. Brakes! (I converted to four wheel disk)
4. Hard top to T-top. I had to get a veiw parts here and still have no headliner.
As far as the rear end goes, I bought my rear end from a guy who had just put a 1996 Firehawk rear end into an 88 Formula. I think all the bolts line up for every year from 82 on up but I wouldn't swear that is true. Just be sure to keep your "donor" car untill you have the new car perfect.
