Removing bump stops?
Removing bump stops?
I have a 1990 Firebird Formula and I recently installed Jamex lowering springs. I think my front springs haven't settled yet because of limited suspension travel due to reduced clearance between my A-arms and the bumpstops. One A-arm is resting on the bumpstop while the other A-arm is about a half centimeter above the bumpstop. Would cutting an inch off my bumpstops help my springs to settle right, or should I remove the bumpstops altogether? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't remove the bump stops, try cutting the pointed part off. how does the car handle with a 2" drop?
Thanks for the info! I will try cutting about 1" off the top for additional clearance.
Junkyarddog - my car was only lowered about 1.5", but hopefully they'll settle to about a 2" drop in front after I trim the bump stops. Anyway, It handles great - freakin' awesome in fact! My car actually bottoms out less, has a smoother ride and corners smoother and harder than before! I would recommend lowering to anyone who owns an F-body. Thanks again!
