New springs, front still higher!!!

i just put on eibach sportlines and the rear still sits close to an inch lower. When i installed the front springs, i made sure the tails were on the bottom and facing toward the engine. is there some kind of brace or spacer i should install under the rear springs to level the car out? i have a speaker box that weighs about 85 lbs with 2 12" subs in the trunk. could this be the reason? i also have fairly new shocks and struts on the car. any opinions or suggestions welcome.

I got new springs all around too and my front sits way too high. I am thinking I need to cut about 1/2 coil off They say doing that will increase the stiffness (and these are stiff springs all ready), but if it lowers it 1", any increased stiffness would be overlooked! I imagine by removing the A/C and going with aluminum heads and glass hood I have also removed 100lbs+ from the nose...

Not sure if this helps, but Kenny Brown has spacers for the 4th Gen. A buddy of mine bought some 2 weekends ago in Indy, they were like $25.

I don't see why they wouldn't work on a 3rd gen.

first of all get rid of the speaker box; 85lbs no wonder it's lower that's a good start on solving your problem.

if it's still off a whole inch without the box which i doubt, someone has done something wrong with the install. did you replace the rubber bushings that cover the rear springs? the old ones worn or missing will cause a little variance.

as far as the front being a little higher; i've never seen an install where the front was actually lower or even to the back, usually the front is always a little higher; but not an inch higher (this will usually level out over time or when there is a driver in the car.

cutting the spring a half a coil won't make your ride stiffer; it will on the other hand make the front have a little floating effect. but, this will with out a doubt solve your problem. (as long as you took out the speaker box)

shocks and struts won't really affect your height either. it's only your springs; so if you are sure they are in correctly, i would remove the speaker box and re-measure, it shouldn't be that off; and if the little bit bothers you cut of a 1/4 of the top coil.... this will even it out and if you want a noticeable difference cut 1/2 off the top.

good luck

the top is machined flat, not sure i could cut. when speaking with eibach, the tech. said something about loosening the a-arm while it's jacked up, tightening when it's down. think this would help?
