Parking Brake Delete?

I have a 3.23 Posi(Drum)in my garage and I'm doing a brake job on it before installing in my 87 Camaro.

When my buddy removed it from his 82Z he just cut the cables and jerked it out.

Here's my intentions but I'd like a more experienced opinion, before I go flying down the road.

Pull the remains of the cable from the backing plate and plug the hole and eliminate both the PB lever and PB strut, from the brake assembly.

Other than having no parking brake, do you see any potential problems?

Thanks.

None. The brakes will work fine without the extra hardware.

People with automatic transmission rarely use the park brake anyway. They just rely on the parking pawl inside the transmission to hold the vehicle.

They are normally required to pass inspection. Maybe use guys in Mich can get around that.

If anything in your brake system ever fails, you'll wish you had something extra to stop with (down shifting can only do so much).
