Centerlink and rear bearings
The other day I went to get a wheel alignment and they told me they could not do it because it needed a new centerlink and the rear bearings needed to be repacked. Is this something I can do myself or should I let the shop do it?

Rear bearings should have nothing to do with an alignment. Front bearings yes. Centerlink will affect the steering wheel location and give you some play but won't affect toe/camber/caster(your alignment). Idler arm will affect the alignment and is commonly worn out.

you can do a center link, its a big long bar in the middle of the front steering, it looks kinda like this i will try to draw,.
I\_____________/I
its looks like that, on the right will be the pitman arm attached to your steering box and the other will be on the idler arm, which looks similar to the pitman arm, but its attacked to the frame, you will most likely need a pickel fork to bust it loose, but not too hard of a job.
