Axle/Gears: 3.42
TKO

I just bought a TKO. Does anyone have any info about:
#1. Break in Procedure
#2. Trans Fluid (ATF or Conventional)
Any other general thoughts about the TKO are good too.

Yeah, wrong board but I'll answer anyway....I gave mine about 1000 miles break-in (Fortes suggestion) then changed the fluid. It uses standard ATF. Enjoy it!

the tko as does any tremec, needs to use GM Sinchromesh tranny fluid (part # 1234). I would agree on the 1000 mile break in. Find a mustang parts web site and order a Pro 5.0 shifter. I loved it and never heard a bad thing about it

Fortes suggests simply using Dextron III ATF during break-in and then using a synthetic in the long term.
