Except for the 1LEs, are the calipers from year to year and from front to rear interchangeable?

Year to year front to front caliper swaps should work just fine, but not front to rear. Also, unless I'm out to lunch, you can't put pre-89 rear disc calipers on 89-up rears. The e-brake cables mount differently and I don't think the calipers will bolt into the carriers and onto the plates. I have both the 88 and 89 9-bolt posi disc rears but I haven't done the switch yet, so I haven't test fitted anything. (89 in, 88 out) Hope this helps.

Front Disc:
All non 1LE front calipers, 84-92 are identical.
Non-1LE front calipers 82-83 were a different thread for the brakelines (SAE instead of metric); this makes the rubber lines non-interchangeable. I don't know if the banjo bolt threadings in the calipers are different are not.
All 1LE calipers are identical.
Rear Discs:
All 89-92 calipers should be interchangeable.
All 84-88 calipers are interchangeable
82-83 calipers are interchangeable.
82-83 are not interchangeable with 84-88 due to the SAE vs. metric fittings problem.
'89-92 read discs will mount on an '82-'88 rear (and vice versa) assuming you swap the backing plates. 9 and 10 bolt backing plates are different. You'll also have to swap hard lines (or fabricate your own) and rubber caliper lines (not the center one).
You're only mildly out to lunch. The backing plates and ebrake cables are different, so are the rubber lines and the hard lines. Swap all that and you are good to go.
