Traction Bars
What are the best traction bars or traction enhancing parts that i can put on a 1971 Chevorlet El Camino with a coil spring setup? The car has 3.73 posi and spins very easily with 275/60-15 with an occasional wheel hop. Also bigger tires/slicks are not an option. Thank you.

I already have poly bushings.
What would be a good traction bar, I have seen some in Jegs for coil spring setups?
Thank You

I don't have a leaf spring car but from the looks of what's around I'd say the bars made by Calvert racing, called Caltracs. You can check them out and read the info section about the idea and how it works at their website.

Those suspension systems are horrible when it comes to traction and wheel hop. The old LS-6 Chevelles were a real hoot with that suspension system. Around 500HP and enough traction to just beat a VW Bug. What I have heard of working well without a ton of work is relocating the upper control arms. This is done with a bolt on/weld on arm to move the mount on the rear end. I went digging to try to find some part numbers/prices. I think Hotchkis makes what I am thinking of but they are calling it a "trailing arm mounting brace" for $102. Summit part # HSS-1402. But I may be mistaken and it may be something else. Jegs definately has what I am thinking of by Lakewood. Its part number 620-21609 for $125. You can also check out the info on the Lakewood traction bars here http://www.mrgasket.com/lakecat.htm . There are other things you can do to help traction like boxing in all of the control arms or replacing them with aftermarket pieces. Still I would start with relocating the ICG to a better location with the traction bars.
