Installing drop spindles and want to change springs

Since i have half the suspension apart anyway i thought i might as well change the springs. Is there any way to change them without using a spring compressor? I REALLY don't like them and would like to avoid using them. I will be installing new - same stiffness springs.

With the spindle out, just drop the lower control arm down and let the spring come out. If you are worried about it popping out at you, put a chain on the spring. It shouldn't have much if any pressure left.

Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, currant red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

whoa there cowboy, those springs DO have a lot of pressure left. The way to do it without a compressor is to put a floor jack under the lower control arm and slowly lower the arm(after breaking the spindle free). It will probably get to a point where the spring is still sitting on the arm and the jack is all the way down. At this point the spring has minimal pressure, but still some. Just grab the spring and pull it loose, it shouldn't pop out at this point. I rebuilt my front suspension this summer and I can assure you that those springs have pressure the whole time they're on the LCA.
