Problems with spohn manual rack 82 firebird
Hi there I have spohns complete k member package ,coilovers etc.The problem I'm having is when turning sharp the tire turning in will go to far & the knucle will hit the a arm on the front the front tire goes almost 90 degrees (not good),the tire turning in is when turning right the drivers tire folds in & left the pass side folds in,seems like the rack is too far ahead ,tie rods are winged back to steering knucle not straight across.I have moved rack back 1.5 " seemed to help some but still not in line ,so I am thinking of straighting out the knucle some to try & help some more.(spohns answer is to make the steering stops longer ,this only stops tire from turning to far out which is not the problem I have). This car is for drag race only,at 130 mph this steering set up is scary to say the least, any help is welcomed .Thank's

the tire is connected to the knuckle (spindle), so extending the stops will help. unless im missing something.
i am confused though, i assume you are using skinnies up front, but even then, the stock steer stops should stop the wheels from turning before they go too far. unless something is missing?
and pics?

the knucle does not even touch the stops 3/16 away from stops, its the front that hits the a arms ,seems that the bump stop kit allows the knucle to piviot beyond the tie rod end & the only thing that stops it is the front of A arm! strange? I have pics but they are too large.

im still a bit confused why the factory stop is not contacting the spindle's steering stop tab. reguardless of the steering setup, the stops doesn change and there should be no way to turn the wheel that far.
by chance is the steering stop missing on the passengerside? since thats the side that would stop this, or does it turn the same both ways?
Thats a crazy amount of steering angle! the drift guys would love that
