Crack near gear box

I just got a 1987 IROC and went to have one of the wheel locks removed at a local tire shop (didn't get the key from the guy I got it from), and he pointed out that there was a crack in the frame near the gear box. After pulling it together I left feeling ripped off. Now, is this repairable? Has anyone seen this before or am I screwed. Thanks

Happens from time to time. Have it welded and make sure the Wonderbar is in place.
