Need shocks that will feel Stock for an 86 iroc?
I bought my car last saturday and i hate the way the car feels on the freeway.
The cars front end bounces up and down because someone decided to use cheap shocks from an autozone or something..
From what ive read irocs are supposed to have a stiffer suspension, the seller included the rear shocks when he sold me the car so i assume that the front was already changed (rear doesnt bounce as much) since it feels pretty bouncy and the shocks he gave me dont look very good.
What are some aftermarket shocks that will come close to the stock iroc shocks? i dont want to be bouncing up and down on the freeway it kinda makes me feel like im on a boat or something..
Thanks for any helps guys.

The cheeeeper KYBs (GR2 maybe?) should do it.
If they came from AZ, they're probably Gabriels. Those would be the most pathetically weenie thing you can put in a box and still legally print "strut" or "shock" on the side. If that's what you got from the seller, throw em away and get something else.

I have the KYBs that sofakingdom suggested on my 89 IROC and they are pretty decent for the price. I have pushed my car a little bit and have no issues with them feeling spongy.

Do you guys have a link? I searched them on summit and for some reason i only found some for a 1990 iroc.
What would be the kyb shocks next in line above the gr2s?

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KYB-236001/
This should be the exact same part number as what you found, but I got it by looking up KYB struts for an '86 Camaro.
Next up would be the KYB AGX

Yeah thats what i had found. For some reason it only shows a 1990 iroc under their applicatiob tab, so i figured i would just double check first.
Should still work on an 86 right? Dont see why not.
Thanks ronnjonn
