Edelbrock strut brace install questions

Hey team,
I'm reading about strut brace advantages. sounds like they are worth it.
My question is about the air cleaner and future distributor cap access.
Will the single snorkle air cleaner still fit? and how badly will the brace restrict future distributor cap access?
Also...
I assume i will have to drill the holes needed to install the brace.
What about new stronger strut mounts first? I hear that may be helpful as well.
Another post said put in new motor and transmission mounts first. really?
Thanks team. a lot of good info in our archives.

Perhaps info/pics will answers some of your questions:

Yes, you'll have to drill several holes.

For the full benefit of an STB, you'll need to replace the OE mounts and their rubber with an after market piece with a spherical bearing.

Though new mounts might be a good idea, I'm uncertain how they might affect body flex.

You haven't said what you intend to do with the car. If you're not racing you don't really need a strut brace.

Re: Edelbrock strut brace install questions

You will see more of an improvement with new strut mounts using bearings instead of the stock rubber

Sorry, you're right, it is important too.
The car is a daily driver. Not for the strip or track.
I'm interested in keeping the car and enjoying the ride.

Then spend your money and time on something else to make the car more comfortable or attractive or fun.
