Feel stupid asking this strut question

I just recived my new Monroe matic plus struts yesterday but I has a question, how do I open them? The instructions say to cut the holding tie or turn it, thst isn't a tie so what do I turn to get the rod to extend so I can instal it??

Re: Feel stupid asking this strut question

the very end of the piston should have a flat spot at the very tip after the threaded portion, grab that with a properly sized wrench and give it a turn.

You may have to push down a little and then turn to get them to release.

Remember to turn them counter-clockwise, just like you were loosening a bolt.
