Safest way to install
Ok so I dropped off my a arm an steering knuckle to get new ball joints an a arm poly bushings in. They will be finished in the morning an I will be reinstalling everything attached what is the safest way to keep the spring in while setting everything back in an retorquing all bolts
Re: Safest way to install
I like to use a spring compressor (one that goes on the inside of the spring is the only thing that will work). You might need to space the bottom clamp up from the end of the threaded rod or alternatively, cut the rod some. I have found that the rod will hit the top of the spring pocket before the spring if you don't. Then jack up the A arm and pass your bolts through, and then torque.

Pic of the tool below. Be sure and use the pipe nipple. I believe Autozone rents the one pictured.

BTW, Spohn sells an A-arm bolt kit if you'd like new ones.

That is the one Autozone has also has the other to compress to the a arm an hold it down that way I'll just get the one from Autozone again an for bolts I'm getting a set from my local steel shop a set of grade 8 bolts with nylon bolts so they don't back out or come loose from vibration
