UMI Performance's 3rd Gen Build- Pictures, Suspension ect.
Hello Everyone,
With the release of the our new k-member for the 82-92 F-Body we felt it was appropriate to build our own 3rd generation Camaro. This car is designed to be fun a street car and a car we will use at product shows we attend to show off our suspension items.
The car is owned by Christina Houser who is UMI's marketing and advertising director. She purchased this car new in 1985 as her first car, sold it and then purchased it back about 4 years ago so it has a lot of value to her. The car has been sitting in her garage for 3-4 years now just waiting for the perfect opportunity to get it back on the road. We teamed up with Chris and her husband to have this car completed by next week.
You can see the pictures of the build in the link below and we will be updating them this week as the car comes to a finish. You shouldn't have to be a Facebook member to view the pictures, if you are please "LIKE" our page as well for the latest updates. I put a few teasers pictures below as well.

Looks good, tell the owner they're not the only one sticking with old school. I'm going with a SBC myself. And I noticed a familiar ride in your owner's rides album. The CETA owned by Justin Cude. I rode in that car a few years ago, though it was prior to him doing the upgrades. He was a freshman and I was a senior at McPherson College where we went for Auto Restoration majors. That thing was probably in the top 3 fastest cars I've driven/ridden in, and he has since upgraded it even more. I oughta send in a pic of mine when I'm done.
Though it will be a few years....
I'm rocking a T56, Koni Yellows, Eibach Pro Kit, LS1 front brakes, third gen PBR rears, and yes, UMI suspension. A arms, Camber Casters, on car adjustable panhard bar, rear LCAs. Maybe another item or two....
Here is a peek before I got the Torque arm in and got it back on the ground.

Its back on the ground, though as you may have seen, I've been having a hell of a time with the front springs...

I have a question about the LCA's... I got the older style ones without the bump stop or steering stop. Do you guys sell the steering stops that I can just weld on? i like how yours are adjustable.

What brand/color paint did you use on the car? That looks like the same color I want on my '84. And that K-member looks slick! I just might have to get one of those!

Looks good. I personally would have went with LSX and coilovers, but that's just me.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'll ask Mark (the owners husband!) for the paint code.
