Does/should adding SFCs alter alignment?
I just had some UMI sfcs welded in on my car. Can definitely tell the difference in how the car feels, especially over curbs! However, ever since I got the car back, the steering wheel has been off center to the right. I had it so the wheel was mostly straight before (need to tighten up the box) but is about 1/3 turn to the right now.
Was just wondering if this is normal, or did the shop that welded it in goof up somehow? I did a search, didn't really find anything directly related, maybe I missed something, but nothing came up for me.

the car needs to have all 4 wheels on the ground and level when installing SFC according to the instructions. In my experience when adjusting the gearbox, it's only a short term fix because the gearbox is already wore out.

I know that I should be on the ground (our a drive on hoist), and -assuming- it was, would the alignment change? I don't think it should, but I wasn't sure since this is a first for me.
Would you recommend a new box then? From where?

AutoZone (in Ohio anyway) sell a quick ratio remanufactured box for around $120. can't remember if the warranty is 1yr or lifetime.

Welding the sfc in incorrectly will screw up your alignment. Its completing the frame and if done wrong it will have tweaked the full frame.

Thanks for choosing UMI for your car. We appreciate it.
In most cases the SFC's won't change the steering wheel indexing if the SFC's were welded in with the suspension fully loaded. Basically the SFC's just keep the chassis of the car in place during operation instead of allowing it to flex.
