loose steering column cover

So I had the problem with a wobbly steering column but before i could fix it I was driving and heard a snap. then the cover behind the steering wheel that houses the ignition switch and turn signal lever started rotating around the column. anyone know how its all held in place and what the solution might be?

Welcome to TGO, AlexeitheWolf.

Check the How-to sticky at the top of the page for pics and info. BTW, there are many questions that haven't been asked and answered to site, so a search is generally a good idea.

I would have thought the pics and tear down would have been beneficial. Are you discussing the lock plate cover (plastic), held in place with three plastic tabs, or the lock plate itself, held in place with a snap ring? Check steering column exploded views (PDF's) in the following link for more possible help:

Best of luck with your project.
