White plastic ring with Koni Yellow struts?

Does it do anything? The instructions aren't all that clear and the old struts didn't appear to have that ring. Do I need it or not? Where's it go?

I don't know what they are for, but my thought is that they are a hard cushion to prevent the strut from bottoming out all tyhe way and causing serious damage to the strut

They fit snugly on the strut shaft right? If so I suspect they are suspension travel indicators. I use my tube mounted bump stops for the same reason.

They don't fit tight at all, really sloppy.

Strange. I remember seeing them. But never put them on as I didn't see a purpose.

Right. I figured they'd rattle like all hell, so if they don't do anything important I'll keep them in with my other spare parts.

I left mine on, wasn't exactly sure what they were for, but I figured they wouldn't hurt anything. They may rattle around, but you cannot hear them.

They are called packers. They are used to space out a shaft mounted bump stop or in extreme cases, prevent the damper from bottoming out internally.
