going to do a full post on front K Member/parts install
Going to do a full post on the install of Sphons K Member coild overs A arms. and just about everything They make for the front of the F body.
My car has not even Hit, a speed Bump, at More then 3mph from the Day I left the GM Dealer, after i sent it to Lingenfelters (the only time it was out of My sight) it was a Better driver then New.now all the years later.
Going to Put it to rest on how the parts fit/install/and run.
to this Date, the K Member bolts right in, did have to start one side first. and sorta pull with my hand, on the other side to get the pin to slide into place, and hold it there to start the bolt. but all 6 bolts spun right in,
this was only a test fit, every thing on the front of the car is New!
the only thing re used are going to be the spindles/backing plates. and struts (90/10s). all of the old parts (in boxes) have less then 50.000 miles on them, same has the car,
this sphon set up, is for power steering.
A arms are Poly Bushn
coil overs, are for Drag w/14" springs
Car is set up with South Side Lift Bars. installed By Lingenfelter
so I know it's strait!
(they came with SFC/Lift/ladder Bars) pinon angle set at 4 neg (auto Car) 5.7/383
Car even still, smells new, If it dont fit right..I Will post it! and do a full set of Pics with it!!,
But if it Fits.. just like it should, then this Stuff should be Put to bed!
on a side Note: K Member is red. was paid for over 2 years ago..(new test fitted only)
A arms(RED) and coil overs are also 2 years old.(new) sitting in box.
so this stuff is from a few years ago..when all the hoopla! was still Hitting the Fan
Cuzz Guys Wana Know!

How much lighter is your aftermarket K-member to the stock one?

Re: going to do a full post on front K Member/parts install
about 26lbs
if you add stock a arms..
stock spings
stock Kmember
stock Eng Mts
all in a pile, then add the same aftermarket parts,in a pile, is almost 37lbs diff,
it adds up
you can drop about 170lbs off the front of your car with everything adding up
Plastic head lights
alum heads
drag wheels/tires
no swaybars
K members
A arms
coil overs
glass hood
alum brakes calipers
wipers/motor
headers
all the smog (all of it)
AC and everything with it/came with it!
if you move the battery to trunk then thats about 30/50lbs off the nose. But still in/on the car.
but, has you can see..it can be done...and adds up.
thats just off the Front end. you can get anothe 90lbs out /off the back.
but then with a
rollbar
sfc
and a few other safty things youll add back about 190lbs

Re: going to do a full post on front K Member/parts install
It's a little different with autocrossing or road racing (need regular sized front wheels). Won't a roll cage's strength (and subframe connectors) far outweigh the weight addition?
An aftermarket steering wheel may weigh lighter than the stock one with an airbag, I need to check it when mine comes in. But that's in the middle of the car. Is your car just for racing? If so, you should get racing seats, those have to be lighter than the stock front ones.
Also, you forgot about an aluminum block for guys that want/have those crate engines or corvette engines which they say is 100 lbs. less.
It's hard to find, but you should also get a lightweight battery. I've heard about one that is 2 LBS! Since it sounds like your car is for racing, you shouldn't get one that is more than 16lbs. They are also surprisingly affordable.
Back to the K-member... that amount of weight savings is underwhelming, especially for $500+, but every lb helps. They do say they make more room for turbochargers though.

I skipped the alum Block, 90LBS Lighter then the iron Block (and $2800 more) for the alum
if im going to drop $3500 for a alum block it's going to be a Big Block
and $4300!
as for the Battery it's over the Rear end. to better plant the 29.5 x 13 x 15 tires.
and My recaro seats are only 15lbs ea with GM rails.
and skipping the Turbo. in place is a V1 T Trim.. it's a bit lighter then a turbo set up
