Hmm. We hadn't thought of that yet but I'll put it on a list.

My list is getting quite long...

So far so good. Ordered the A arms now because after looking at the stockers, they just look stupid attached to that fine tubular piece. I should have bought them at same time to save on that christmas sale but oh well.

Orr, did you get your setup in yet? Were just winding down here with this ridiculous winter, my stuffs still in the boxes. Although all the plowing $$ is nice it will be a relief to get in the garage again.. After i pulled the motor the wheels started spinning in my head about upgrades....way to many hours behind the wheel plowing, lol

Hey Orr did you get the Road Race version? I think the standard version looks beefy enough for auto x and it'll save over a hundred bucks

Re: UMI New Product! 82-92 GM F-Body K-Member, Road Race

I did get the road race version. I wanted it to be as beefy as possible and it looks like its gonna work. I'm up over 1000whp now and the car torques hard on the dyno pull but it appeared the kmember did its job and stayed straight. True test will be at the track. It likely will pull wheels and slam that front end. I'm goin to try to avoid that as much as possible tho

Re: UMI New Product! 82-92 GM F-Body K-Member, Road Race

Reviving old thread...what's the difference between the standard and road race versions? Additional bracing? Does the road race version still accept the factory triangular braces? Also, will this work with the SBC Canton road race pan?

Doing an engine swap over the winter and adding long tubes so this would be a welcomed addition!

Re: UMI New Product! 82-92 GM F-Body K-Member, Road Race

Good morning.

The k-member is the same base k but with additional bracing for road race use. We haven't had any trouble with the standard model but it's always nice to have some extra support if needed.

Factory triangle braces a-ok.

And road race pans seem to work although it would be best to send model number and pic to support@umiperformance.com before committing to either the pan or the k-member. Standard disclaimer on this stuff is "hot rodding may be required" sometimes...

Re: UMI New Product! 82-92 GM F-Body K-Member, Road Race

Sounds good, thanks for the reply. I agree and would definitely go with the road race option. I also don't see why the pan wouldn't work but will send in model # and pic just to be sure. Thx!
