Stock A-arm with non-stock bush

I have a question for those whose stock A-arms have non-stock bushes.
How do you grease the bushes?
Is it necessary to grease them often?

I think about getting UMI A-arms partly because of their useful grease nipples.
What do you think?

Re: Stock A-arm with non-stock bush

I grease all of those things like that (control arm bushings both front and rear, sway bar bushings, etc.) whenever I do an oil change.

Then of course since I'm greasing those, I give all the other grease fittings a shot too; "might as well" since I'm already there with the gun; ball joints, steering linkage, etc.

Not sure if that would be considered "often".... never really thought about it that way...

I think it would shorten their life dramatically if allowed to run dry.

Thanks for the reply.
So in order to grease bushes without nipples, do you take out those bushes and grease them whenever you do an oil change?
Wow, that's great!

I guess... but I don't buy the kind of bushings that come without fittings, seems kinda dumb really, so I couldn't say for sure.

Re: Stock A-arm with non-stock bush

My Del-a-lum bushings have zirc fittings on them so there isn't any additional maintenance involved to grease them.

It really depends on the bushing material.

IMO the smartest thing you can do when buying aftermarket parts is to get them with delrin joints which require no lubrication.

In my experience poly requires fairly frequent lubrication to stay noise free.

No need to grease delrin joints. They are self lubricating. In this case, grease is just helping to attract dirt.

Re: Stock A-arm with non-stock bush

Yeah, I often hear about delrin and del-a-lum bushes.
I don't want to use poly or whatever bushes that needs lubricating without fittings.
So if I use a-arms without fittings, maybe delrin will be the most reasonable choice.
Thank you.
