Drag suspension setup

Im building up a shopping list for my front suspension as of now. Just wanted some pointers...

Car is getting a basic 5.3 with cam, 150-200 shot of nitrous. rossler th400, 3:55 gears.

Will be ran on DR's most the time. Not gonna be at the track too often, just want something that hooks hard on the street.

Im planning on getting koni spa1's up front, with moroso trick springs.

In the rear, will be qa1 18 way single adj shock on stock v8 springs.

Have founders panhard, and LCA's, LCARBs if necessary.

Just wondering if theres anything wrong with this current plan, or if anyone had any tips? thanks.

Re: Drag suspension setup

double adjustable rears at least are needed for drag radials on the street. Why such small rear gears also?

I'm also looking to get my car to hook on the street a little better. You think rear shocks are more important in hooking then fronts??

Re: Drag suspension setup

tires are most important as is the whole package. Do you at least have 90/10s up front ?

He mentioned drag radials, so they need a good double adjustable shock to get the chassis to do what you want. Getting the weight transferred and the tire hooking is key.

In my case I don't have adjustables up front. I just put in a set of new KYBs up front and not looking to change them out anytime soon. I do run drag radials also with non adjustable KYBs(older) out back. I just saw you mention double ajustables for the rear and was curious how much they would help with non adjustables up front..my mods in sig above.

Re: Drag suspension setup

Why do you say doubles are needed with drs? I know of a good chunk of people running singles in the rear and hitting 1.2-1.4 60'..

Re: Drag suspension setup

It's a tuning aid. With double adjustable shocks, you can fine tune both directions for all track conditions. One setting does not work under all situations.

Re: Drag suspension setup

A good rigid torque arm is a good investment too. Especially if your in the low 7's 1/8 / 10's 1/4. Dropped my 60' too.

Re: Drag suspension setup

The trick springs arent really worth the trouble IMO....rear shocks, 90/10 fronts and a good torque arm will work wonders.

Re: Drag suspension setup

I like the spohn pro arm. They are on several 7-8sec cars and work awesome.
