installing lower ball joints

hello.. I need to do my lower ball joints and just wanted to know if its a hard job to do or easy enough to do at home. do I need to remove my springs and struts to do this job? thanks for any info

You can do them on the car withe the right tool but ive never tried it... off the car they're easy enough- I've done them with a big hammer before but they're easier with a press.

rent the installer from autozone
tie the strut assembly out of the way (or pull it out)
put the bjs in the freezer the night before
use a little oil on the hole in the a arm and the thread on the installer

the strut to spindle bolts require 150 ft lbs
i usually stand one foot out on a breaker bar that is normal to the earth's radius ( i weigh around 156-7) to double check the torque after the impact wrench
