torque arm, is mine good enough?

I have a adjustable UMI torque arm that mounts to the trans. Now that I will be going lsx t56 I was thinking of a chassis mount T/A. Should I buy one or will mine suffice.

10.99 in the qm but im sure I will be in the 11.50s but I may spray it with a 200 shot.

Re: torque arm, is mine good enough?

Honestly, if it were my car, I'd modify the crossmember to get the mount off of the trans. I also think that you would want to either modify or build a crossmember from scratch for your exhaust clearance anyways, and it wouldn't be that much more work to move the mount to the crossmember if you're already laying welds.

Looks like the Jegster torque arm.

Re: torque arm, is mine good enough?

It is similar, as they are both tunnel mounts. I have never held a Jegster, but from what I have seen and read theirs has a much longer tunnel piece that can create some interference issues depending on what transmission you are running. I know I have plenty of room in mine (granted I am running a TH400) but from what I have measured I think I could even clear a 4L80 (but would like to fit one up to verify.

I don't have it either, I have a Trak-Pak. I just noticed that the mounting plate looked a lot like the plate from the Jegster piece.

Lol... that's what I said when he turned up pushing his product on another forum... I'm pretty opinionated about TA designs and feel the Jegster is one of the better ones out there and have never heard of the plate getting in the way of anything. The axle mounting side hitting yes (and lots of them do on larger axles) but not the stuff on the front...

Re: torque arm, is mine good enough?

The saddle on my jegster was interfering with the driveshaft for me...

I'm much lower than stock, running a 3.5" driveshaft, and I have the back of my trans mission raised as high as possible go get some header clearance.

Out of curiosity, what are your fender heights? I'm wanting to run the jegster torque arm but I'm going to be slammed to the ground. Plus I have a 3" drive shaft. I'm wondering if I'll have any major clearance issues?

Re: torque arm, is mine good enough?

I want to say around 25.5" Here's a quick picture I took last night:

Honestly the static height of the car isn't the issue. I've cut out the entire bumpstop area and I now have a lot more bump travel than stock with shaft mounted bumpstops.

The interference didn't really show itself until I checked for bump clearance. After learning a few lessons the hard way I always take the springs out and run the suspension through it's full travel and check for clearance to brake lines, tires to the fender well, suspension parts, etc.

I was able to remove enough out of the top of the saddle to make room for the driveshaft, but i'm sure it's compromised it's strength a little.

I'm going to be at around a 25" front fender height; I'll just have to clearance like you did if I have any trouble. I'm running GC shaft mounted bump stops too. They are nice.

Great looking GTA btw. Love the level stance. Good luck with your build!
