need spring advice( moogs suck)
long story short I replaced my springs on my 88 with moog springs on all 4 corners and the fronts are hideously too high. about a 4 inch gap between the tire and fenders. ive searched on here and it seems that im not the only person to run into this problem with moog....so I need to replace them and I would like advice on what I should put on it....I replaced everything when I did the springs such as the struts , shocks, and sway bars so I really don't want to replace all that again. my car looks like a 4x4 right now. please help! you might be able to seen in this picture.

Re: need spring advice( moogs suck)
can I put the hotchkis 1 inch lowering springs without changing everything again? I would do the front and rear if I could do it without needing to change everything and weld lca mounts to the rear.

are you sure you indexed the front springs correctly? if you did not install them properly that would be exactly your problem. Its a very common mistake.

Man that front end is sitting really high. You can install lowering springs without replacing any of your other suspension pieces that you say you recently installed. You will have to get the front re-aligned; and it would be wise to get an adjustable panhard bar too. (but you don't have to)

Would hotchkis 1 inch drop spring be the best for me or eibach or something else? I'm not autocross or drag racing just going to car shows and cruising mostly.

I definitely recommend eibach over hotchkis. Hotchkis spring rates aren't any better than stock for our cars. If you had a 1st gen then I would recommend hotchkis.

Re: need spring advice( moogs suck)
Put the Eibach 1" lowering street version using the outer A arm release, compressor with the mod to avoid center screw interfering with K member seat, and the jack (factory releases the inner connection of the A arm). First try it sat just like yours and was correctly indexed on the A arm. However the center screw on the compressor had caught off center on the hump in the K member which hung the spring up on the hump as well. Had to shine a bright light up into the K arm to see the spring hung up on the hump.Once getting the spring off the hump and into the seat it sat fine, rides great, and has settled slightly more with time. Then again maybe Moog springs do ****.

Re: need spring advice( moogs suck)
yes it did and the ride is soo much better...I went from around 28 inches from the lip to the ground to 26 3/4. I didn't do the rear yet. and it is 28 1/4 from the ground to the lip. as a comparison the eibach spring had about a coil and a half less than the moog.
Re: need spring advice( moogs suck)
Awesome! Post up some pics when you get the rear done. I bet it will look sweet. Besides the stance your car looked really good in the picture above...

Re: need spring advice( moogs suck)
LF 27.3 RF 27.5
LR 28.75 RR 29
How much did the Moog 5662 change my front heights?
LF +0.5" RF -0.25"
Everybody seems to get a different result with springs and car height. Mine went up on the driver's side front and down on the passenger side front. Yet the result was that the car was level with a 0.2" difference side to side. Better than before as the driver's side was much lower than the passenger side prior to replacing springs.
If you're happy with the lowering springs, then I say all is well. Personally I kind of wished that my front end was in the 28" range as there are way too many speed bumps and steep driveways where I live. (Prone to flooding, so everything has a steep entrance). On the other hand, it gave the car a nice raked look.
