Materials and the machine time cost is the biggest problem. I'm currently working on a set made out of Delron. Since there is only compression load it should be just fine, not to mention much lighter than a 1" thick piece of aluminum.
I'm currently waiting to hear back from my design group on the cost to produce these.

Re: caster camber plate "spacers"
I have some 11/16" T6 aluminum spacers that I had made for a coil over setup. I had 2 sets made. the look like the above version but at 11/16" tall. They allow almost 3/4" spacing. I currently put on a set of 1/2" spacers for mine. and this is what they look like.

I can sell a set of the 11/16" ones if someone wanted them. they are threaded for 5/16-18 bolts.

Re: caster camber plate "spacers"
the struts are trying to push sideways towards the engine as the car sits, and they get pushed in every direction as the car drives down the road and hits bumps and takes corners and what not... i wouldn't be trusting any form of plastic to hold under those kinds of loads..
