Opinions needed...is my BMR K-member made crooked? *pics inside*
**Mods please delete. Found issue and started another thread.**
Little backstory...I have never been able to get my steering to a point I was happy on my car ever since getting it running 4 or so years ago. Every single steering component is brand new moog, all with no play. Verified with brother turning the wheel while I watched underneath. Gearbox is a quick steer delphi 600 unit and I can tell there is zero play in the steering wheel, even on center.
Now for my issue. While driving down the road as I hit small bumps, the car constantly wants to dart and go wherever it feels like going. I had a digital alignment performed by a very competent shop and they got everything to my exact specs perfectly. But the car still had the same issue afterwards and didn't want to track straight.
Fast forward to now when I finally got around to digging into it, and I found a huge problem. Check out the pics and give me any opinion you can, but I'm sort of thinking my BMR K-member was made crooked, and if it is actually the case, I'm going to be an extremely anger customer. Pay special attention to where my pitman arm is in relation to the sway bar, and compare it to the height of my idler arm. Also, notice the centerlink is not even close to being level with the A-arm bolts even though I have the idler arm positioned as far as I can get it in the factory slotted holes. The steering geometry is completely off. I took a measurement from the frame rail to the A-arm bolts on the K-member. Drivers side is about 7" and pass side is about 7.5-7.75" so it's way the heck off. Anyways, I'd like to discuss this and see if anybody else has similar issues, or if anybody has any other ideas as to what may cause this issue. Clearly the car will always have bump steer unless I get the canter link straight and correct the horrendous geometry.
