Nope. Hotchkis (and 95% of the others on the market) are perimeter mounted. The existing sheet metal boxed reinforcement that has been riveted in place behind the gfx is in the way of where these would go. Only 2 brands (so far) will work. I have Alston SFC's in my 'vert. They can be purchased from Internet Racers Supply 888-469-RACE http://www.racenet.net/ . They are p/n IRS S18292W and ran me $159.99 ($167.49 w/S&H). Also Kenny Brown SFC's work, but are pricier. Steve Spohn is rumored to be working on a set for 'verts as well. Alston (the ones on the East Coast) is the "Alston" I am referring to as having SFC's that work for 'verts. Not to be confused with the Chris Alston Chassiworks on the West Coast, which also makes SFC's, just not ones for a 'vert. Now for the bad news. Alston has been letting the ThirdGen market down lately. I know of a local member that has had an open order for their SFC's for something like 8 months now and STILL hasn't rec'd them. They have been too busy filling orders for the FourthGen guys to get back to making ours. Previously they had them listed as their "Terminator" series, but it in actuality was the Alston SFC's. Funny thing is they always incorrectly listed them as NOT working on a convertible, yet they did! IRS dropped the ThirdGen version of SFC from their web page when they revised the site. I wonder if that indicates anything? Good luck, Lon.
I just emailed Internet Racing Supply regarding the subframe connectors. Apparently they are 'out of stock' and won't be in for several months. I am disappointed since I wanted to buy them as a Christmas present for my own car!
Here's his reply:
Daniel,
Good evening Sir. Thank you very much for your inquiry. Unfortunately, I do not currently have any subframe connectors available. At this time, we are looking at least a couple of months before I do have any available. If you do have any further questions, I will not be in the office the remainder of the week. BUT I will be checking emails, more than periodically.
Thank You,
JB Manning

Oh well... Guess we better let them know that there is still a demand for those subframe connectors.

I checked Jeg's site and their bolt on SFC. It states that it does not fit with the stock exhaust system and it's $250ish. Kinda high for a SFC that does not fit a Camaro normally...

I did not have to make any modifications to the Jeg's SFCs. I had to drop the Y pipe to install the right side connector, once it was in place the factory Y pipe went back into place with plenty of clearance, and the Hooker Y pipe that I run now also has plenty of clearance. The part number is 550-40053 and they cost $180.
Humvee, I think you were looking at the Competition Engineering bolt on SFCs on the Jegs site.

Thanks Rick89IROC, so your very happy with those SFCs? I was gonna get Alstons but I don't feel like waiting who knows how long. Do you have some more pics of them installed and out of the car?
I had all but given up on finding subframe connectors for my 88IROC convertible. I currently in the suspension phase of my project. I have the Edelbrock 50 states legal headers and am wondering if there will clearance issues with the Jeg's bolt ins.
Thanks
Thanks
Here are a couple more pictures of the Jegs SFC's on my car. As you can see on the right side, the connector is angled up towards the floor pan as it comes foward by the Y pipe giving it plenty of clearance. I have had the SFCs on my car for five years now, and they are holding up just fine. I have the Hooker shorty headers and Y pipe, so I think any other aftermarket Y pipe should fit without any problems. I don't know if the dual cat set up will have any clearance problems, I guess you can check will Jeg's if you have dual cats.
