1988 Sport Coupe- What size sway bar bushings?
Hey guys, I'm putting new end links on both the front and rear, and figured I'll do the bushings where the sway bar mounts to the body too. I've got the front bar measured at 3cm/30mm (a perfect 1 3/16 size I can find), but the rear sway bar is showing up at around 16mm, and I can't find a bushing available that small. I might just be measuring wrong, but does anyone know off hand what the correct size should be? Thanks

Hi, if you've measured it correctly, then it is what it is , get a universal for any car sway bar bushing set and be done

Hey thanks!! I just waded thru a Autozone search for "16mm sway bar" and found a nice kit! Just weird it doesn't come up as being compatible for my car. Base Cars need love too!

Yeah it's true, I think it's a problem on many old cars. I would be interested to see pictures of your kit , and how it fits and that

Hey again! It's not so much of a kit, I just bought 2 bushings and 2 end links, and then 2 more end links and 2 smaller bushings to do the rear. The front is all put back together and the fit is great, corners like a champ 😄 I'll try to grab some pics tomorrow, and again when I do the rear 😉I got part numbers and everything too if u need

I never heard of a 16mm factory bar - the OEM 3rd gen sizes are 18, 21, 23, and 24mm.

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm no expert...
Any possibility it's off of a 4th gen? As in, the car didn't come with one at all, and somebody junkyarded it on there? Is the whole rear by any chance from a 4th?

I really doubt it's off a 4th gen car, It looks like I just measured wrong and it's a 18mm bar (easy to overlook 2mm, haha.) Now gotta find and order correct sized bushing. Many thanks for the stock sizes, btw, I like leaving info behind for the next guy who runs into this problem!
