Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

I recently purchased a 89 IROC (my first third gen) and have begun doing necessary repairs. upon starting my most recent repair, replacing a broken wonderbar, I ran into a small but frustrating problem. The bracket that attaches the frame to the wonderbar on the drivers side is missing it's upper bolt. From what I can tell the bolt size is different than all the other bolts. Does anyone have any idea what size it is, or how I can find this information? Thanks in advance.

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

I think it is an M12 bolt.

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

Is that different than the other bolts? I believe they were standard and much smaller? Thanks for the reply

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

I will post a picture later. It was broken, welded, and broke again. Actually a bit concerning now that I think more about it...

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

To answer your question, if I remember correctly, they are simply the sway bar bolts.

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

The sway bar does bolt into this bracket, but the bracket bolts to the side of the frame rail under the steering gearbox. That's the bolt I'm wondering about. Sorry I was not more clear

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

They may be M10, but I am fairly sure it's an M12 for that bracket

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

If your car is breaking Wonderbars, you might want to remove the steering box and have a look at the frame. They crack right there.

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

I absolutely will do that. Thanks for the advice. I do believe it was broke as a result of a collision somewhere in the cars past, but am not sure.

Re: Wonderbar Bracket Bolt

It's a M10 1.5 thread. 25mm or 30mm long will work
