Wondering if caster camber plate noise is normal. Have had UMI caster camber plates on for almost a year and until recently have had issue with right side making noise. And unsure if also it is the cause of having a sort of tight spot on sterring when i turn wheel to the right. Local mechanic tightened up the strut part at top of plate and noise went away. But later returned after a couple weeks.
is this a common issue and any solutions recommended?

 

We have a few thousand sets out there and no particular noise complaints.

For tight spots in the steering, do you have coilovers and are they rubbing? That's the only real trouble (and it's unrelated to our product) as you're trying to fit a lot of stuff in a small space up there.

i do not have coilovers. I have stock springs in front and koni sport yellows. Now it may be that the strut nut part maybe came loose again. Its a daily driver. Will get alignment tomorrow and see if they find steering parts issue. The camber plate on the driver side is great no noise. Any insight would appreciate thanks Ramey

 

The nut should not be getting loose, either the locking nut is wire out, or maybe it's not seating all the way. You didn't use the factory strut dust covers did you?

 

i did not use the dust covers . only the new hardware. I called Koni and asked how much i should torque the strut nut and was told 33 ft/lbs. If the nut gets undone slightly and causes that issue the. New nut will be needed correct? And i found a blog that has info on this issue . could it be what i am experiencing ?
