AC Delco strut mounts - cap issue
Decided to replace my factory strut mounts. Why, I don't really know, 30 year old stuff like this needs replaced? Hard to know if they needed it, haven't test drove yet. The AC Delco replacements ACDELCO 901006 {#19294066}, ACDELCO 901005 {#19294065} are very similar, the primary difference is the footing that faces the windshield, it is a little more squared off than factory.
The other issue is the cap doesn't fit. The replacement's cap hole is a smidge small. Not sure what I'm gonna do about that. You can squeeze the caps in there, but they bind a bit, simply too tight. The factory snapped in, snug but not tight.
Other thing I noticed is the driver side bearing is different from the passenger side. Not sure if each is from a different production batch, or if they are made that way on purpose. Both were made in Taiwan.

Re: AC Delco strut mounts - cap issue
I replaced my strut mounts for the same reason last year with KYB, it was either those or delco, when I did the shocks all the way around. I had the same issue with the caps, what I wound up doing is cut out a small section on the bottom of the caps and that was just enough to get them on. Also had to have my buddy weld a washer on 2 bolts to, one for each mount to ensure they fit properly. The lousy thing is you apparently have to do that or similar for all the strut mounts out there.
