Question about rear shock mounts
Question about rear shock mounts
Hi, I have a 1990 Camaro RS and the original factory shocks are shot. I bought some new Delco performance ones and noticed the rubber bushings that go on the top and underside are smaller in width than the originals and that the originals had a rubber sleeve on the lower bushing that went over the metal shaft of the top mount. The new once’s don’t have this feature. I looked at all the other new shocks and the videos on YouTube of people doing replacement and all of them have this newer smaller style bushing. Anyone here know of a source for the original factory style bushings, or does it even matter?

The shocks I bought are the delco 530-10. Also wanted to know how tightly you’re supposed to torque down the nut on the top of the rubber bushings in the hatch

Finally got around to changing these a week ago. What a big difference! By the way,I didn’t have to unbolt the seats or do any of the stuff I’ve seen other people mention in other threads. You can carefully pull just the carpet near the top shock mounts up to access them.
