Rear trailing arm install issue- SOLVED
The directions say to put jack stands under the axel but i didnt. I put the car on ranps thinking it would be the same. Maybe it was maybe it wasnt. The old trailing arm came out very easy and the first bolt in the replacement arm went in easy. However the other hole isnt lining up. Im guessing the rear end moved or something and i cant get the hole lined up. Any suggestions or experience you can send my way before i go crazy?

Re: Rear trailing arm install issue
The last link is always difficult. You'll need to free up the axle so you can move it into position to align the holes.
Support the car with jack stands to the subframe. Use a floor jack to position the axle up, down, front, rear until things line up. I like to use a small round bar (such as a long metal punch) through the holes to make final alignment and then chase it through with the bolt. It's often necessary to tap the bolt home with a hammer (just to encourage it a bit).

I put a ratchet strap around the axel and hooked it to the rear subframe. I installed the rear bolt and then worked the strap until the front hole lined up. Only took 2 or 3 pulls. Once i had the system down it only took about 15 minutes.
