What kind of socket do I need to use to remove this weird thing that’s holding on my brake rotor All the 3rd gens I worked on never had this I think normally it’s like a 32mm socket and it comes off but in this case idk what this is or what to use to get it off I am not going to use it anymore anyway

Re: What is this down here?

Remove cotter pin and the indexable retainer. The nut is behind there.

Re: What is this down here?

i've never seen that, but from Twin-Turbo's reply it sounds like it's just a metal cap that sits on top of the nut. once the cotter pin is removed, the metal cap should just pull straight off. then use your socket to remove the spindle nut.
