Iron LS swap springs w/o AC
So I’ve searched and have not been able to find any definitive answers. I have an 89 RS V6 that I plan on swapping an iron block truck LS engine into. I do not plan on running AC and pretty much everything else (crossmember, A arms and struts) is going to stock for now. Is it okay to run my stock v6 springs considering the weight difference between SBC and iron LS as well as no AC. Also will be going the auto route on the transmission (4l60e). If not what STOCK type springs should I use. Part numbers would be helpful. My main concern is bottoming out. My end goal is more of a x-cross setup for way down the road when I can afford to invest in better suspension components. Also, any threads that have covered this would be helpful. Feel free to post links so it doesn’t have to be repeated. Thanks

Re: Iron LS swap springs w/o AC
Running without AC is not a problem. Most LS front engine accessories use a dedicated belt to run the compressor, so just don't run it (and don't bolt on the compressor). I would put the engine in with the V6 springs until you figure out what ride height adjustments you will need. An Iron LS is still lighter than any stock 3rd gen V8 by a lot and I wouldn't doubt if its only marginally heavier than the V6. See where the car sits, and go from there. Cheap non performance springs can be bought on rockauto. Personally, i'd just go aftermarket.
