Hey guys have a question. Anyone know the size of the bottom bolt for the Bilstein shocks? I ended up stripping the bolt, and would like to rethread it. What size die should I buy for it? Thanks.
Because I don’t think the bolt comes out? Isn’t it all one piece? And pressed in with that metal backing?
Or can I knock that loose. Well either way what would be the best solution? Because I would hate to have to buy two new shocks.
Not sure, but something like that could work. I could just knock the old one out. I’m kind of new to doing this work by myself. So I’ve been learning with mistakes I make. And I know one thing for sure. I’m never using an impact gun to tighten. I’m using it to just loosen from now on.
Shock hardware is EXTREMELY standardized. The particular bolts and whatnot that a particular mfr uses might look different from others, but once you take all that out, that round place that the bushing goes in, is the same as any other brand. Makes it SOOOOOOOPER EEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZY to just go to the store and get new instead of having to dink with abuncha rusted stripped funkified old garbage.
