for my '89 gta 350 tpi hard top I'm gonna install Spohn's. Also I'm getting (few months from now) a strut tower brace. Yes, the sfc's are different from one manufacturer to another. Spohn's (welded) seems to be the best. KB (kenny brown) also makes a good one but I believe is not as good as Spohn's and it costs 100 usd more (or so...). PS: I'm not gonna race the car (stock it takes 15 sec on the strip so it's no point-haha-)

Spohn is really popular on this board because of his outstanding service and support (or so I'm led to believe). A few others firmly believe that Kenny Brown's are superior because they are supposedly just as strong and lighter. I think as long as they are installed correctly, pretty much all SFCs are good. Personally, I plan on going with Spohn SFCs because he's a supporter of this site.

lighter is good! but they have the same geometric pattern?
Believe me, I've checked the others too, because Spohn has the ad on this page dosen't mean is the only one i've heard of.
I've changed some mails with him but I'm not buying from him just because is a nice guy (and indeed, he is- that's a bonus!); his product really looks good. That's why I'm going 1000 miles so he can weld it for me!- (hey, Steve, can I get my discount now?-hahaha-)

phone to the body repair garages and ask directly "how much costs to install welded sfc's?" if they answer what's a subframe connector.... once you find a good welder in such a garage (who previously installed sfc's) find out from Spohn as much information as you can and be there when they are gonna weld them. Is not very complicated (100-150 usd for 3 hours) but I'm going ll the way there because I don't trust to let anyone practice on my car... But that's just me!
Good luck!

How far are you from Savannah? If interested, I'll give you the number of the mech who installed mine.

Monkie,
Check the site: http://www.globalwest.net/
I don't recall the exact price, but I believe it was around $190 delivered. I have pics of the installation on my home machine, should you be interested.

I know a great welder in NJ. He is my best friends father and we all work together in a family excavtor bussness......anyway...we weld reinforment on the buckets of the machines, "Anti-Bill" reiforments on the dumps( ) etc... He was/is a metal fabricator... I am gonna get him to weld in mine and then see if we want to do it again to other cars for a price.
EDIT: Also, he made up a hitch for a golf-cart at work so they can pull around the tandom axle trailers around the yard..... (most red-necked thing I had even seen in my life....it was onstucted right just the fact that it was on a golf-cart)
